Ella and Steve went camping at Maybury State Park on Saturday. It was a one night event with crafts, a hike around the lake, horseback riding, smores, fishing and sleeping in a tent outside! Ella had a blast. It happened to be a very hot day (almost 90) but they had a great time despite the heat. Ella really enjoyed the fishing until the fish moved after she caught it, and she really liked the crafts. She stayed up really late and woke up with the sun. Steve said she kept thanking him for taking her camping over and over again. She has wanted to sleep in a tent outside since last summer. Steve says he would take her again. I think it will be a great Daddy/daugher adventure every year. Mommy is not an outdoorsy girl. When I found out that twenty to thirty daddy long legs were on the outside of their tent when they woke up, that sealed the deal for me. Nope, never going to sleep outside. HAHA!
