Ella had 4 weeks to work on her bug project. She got to pick a bug from a list that was provided and of course, pure Ella style, she picked a monarch butterfly. We did not take four weeks to do this project. It took us about a five days to get this project done. Ella really did the project on her own and we just supervised and helped her spell the words correctly. We read the books to her when it was time to research, and we helped her model stand up with some toothpicks. Other than that, she did it all.
The first graders put on a show for us and it was fabulous. The kids sang a ton of songs about bugs, and all of their reports were on display for all the families to see. Ella was very proud of her work and stood behind the table as all the parents came around to check them all out. It was a fun night and we look forward to doing it again two more times with Claire and Rose! (well maybe not the five days of working on the project but the bug show was fun!)
