At Ella's August Dentist appointment, they found an extra tooth in her mouth. It was blocking her front, permanent tooth to come out. They recommended that we go see an orthodontist. The ortho took lots of pictures and recommended we go back to the dentist to get two baby teeth pulled and possibly the extra tooth if it was easy to get at.

So today was the big day. Two, maybe three teeth pulled. Two teeth out, no problem. They gassed her and she was fine. Didn't even move. "Best patient ever" is all we heard. The dentist tried to find the third tooth. He couldn't get it. He said we needed to go to an oral surgeon. He suggested we go right that minute down the road. She was all numbed up already and she wasn't healed yet, so it would be easier to get the tooth out. We went down the road, they numbed her and gassed her some more, and dug around to get the tooth out. Literally DUG around in her gums. It was horrific. I can handle blood and guts and whatever, but when it was my baby, I couldn't watch. She was in no pain. She was an excellent patient. The surgeon said she was better than the adults. He was so impressed with her. She got a forehead massage and lots of special treatment. They gave her a milk shake coupon for Red Knapps and we were on way. Oh and a few stitches to boot, but they will dissolve in the next few days. SUCH A TROOPER.

The pain set in on the ride home. She was very upset. She got motrin and a prescription for Tylenol with codeine. She is calm now. Her lip is going down. In the picture, she has Popsicle all over her face. She is eating ice cream and she got a Zhu Zhu pet. The tooth fairy is going to deliver a ton of cash tonight! More money for pulled teeth and she has three to put under her pillow!
